Bolinas Ridge

Bolinas Ridge is the eastern side of the Olema Valley and is directly across from Pt. Reyes National Seashore. It is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area with a ridge top trail open to bicycles. It offers great views, conifer forests, bucolic grasslands, and a connecting trail to Samuel P. Taylor State Park. That's Bolinas Lagoon off in the distance.

The trail takes you up into a stand of Douglas Fir.

Former roadie, Jim West (ex Santa Monica B. C.) appears awed by the abundance of wildlife up on the ridge. We actually did see a bobcat that day.

Yours truly enjoying a fine day on the ridge.

The Pt. Reyes map works fine for the ridge.

Note: If you slip down into the Taylor S. P., you can get the opportunity to ride a bike on the old roadbed of the North Pacific Coast RR.
